Purchasing Individual codes - Students can purchase individual codes to take the StrengthsFinder assessment through the options listed below. The resources you have access to on each website may differ. You will need to determine which option is the best fit for your needs. Please contact Gallup directly if you have questions. 

  • Purchase a code(s) through www.strengthsquest.com - This option is available for students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents and friends of the University. 
  • Purchase a code through www.strengthscenter.com - This option is available for students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents and friends of the University. 
  • Purchase a code through your career center - This option is available for students. Alumni may also be eligible. Please see the list of career offices below to determine the most appropriate place for you to obtain a code. Payment options may vary according to each office.  Please contact the individual office for information about what forms of payment are accepted. Graduate Students please contact the appropriate career center directly to determine if you are eligible for services. Visit www.career.umn.edu to find your career center

Career & Internship Services
Undergraduate students served by Career and Internship Services (students in CCE, CDes and CFANS) may purchase their own StrengthsFinder® code at Strengthsquest.com for $9.99. Individual interpretations are available for those who are using the assessment for career decision making or job search preparation.

College of Education + Human Development Career Services
Undergraduate students served by CEHD Career Services can obtain a code to take the StrengthsFinder® assessment through CEHD Career Services. Contact the office directly to learn about any additional Strengths related services available to students.  Individual interpretations are available for those who are using the assessment for career decision making or job search preparation.

Carlson School of Management Undergraduate Business Career Center (UBCC)
StrengthsFinder® codes are not available for purchase through UBCC. Undergraduate students in CSOM may schedule individual appointments to discuss their StrengthsFinder® results in the context of the career coaching process.

College of Liberal Arts Career Services (CLA Career Services)
Undergraduate students served by CLA Career Services may purchase a code to take the StrengthsFinder® assessment through the CLA Career Services office. Students may schedule individual appointments to discuss their StrengthsFinder® results in the context of the career counseling/coaching process. Materials to help students think about and reflect on their strengths will be available.

College of Science and Engineering Career Center (CCSE)
Undergraduate students in the College of Science and Engineering may purchase a code to take the StrengthsFinder® assessment through the CCSE. Students may schedule individual appointments to discuss their StrengthsFinder® results in the context of the career counseling/coaching process. Materials to help students think about and reflect on their strengths will be available.

College of Biological Sciences
Students in the College of Biological Sciences may purchase their own StrengthsFinder code at Strengthsquest.com for $9.99. Students interested in discussing their StrengthsFinder results should contact CBS Student Services at 612-624-9717.

University Counseling and Consulting Services
Undergraduate students may purchase a code to take the StrengthsFinder® assessment through University Counseling & Consulting Services (UCCS). A counseling appointment is not required, but students may meet with a counselor to discuss their StrengthsFinder™ results and learn more about counseling options.

Center for Academic Planning and Exploration (CAPE)
Undergraduate, degree seeking students may purchase a code to take the StrengthsFinder assessment through the Center for Academic Planning and Exploration. Contact the office directly to set up an appointment or to learn about other CAPE services. In tandem with taking the StrengthsFinder assessment, students will work with a CAPE coach to interpret their results in the context of major exploration.

  • Purchase a book that contains a code to take the StrengthsFinder assessment - This option is available for students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents and friends of the University. If you are going to purchase a book, please note the following:

To determine which book is best for you please click here.  Not all books listed   on this page include codes to take the StrengthsFinder so please verify that the book you want includes a code. 

It is recommended that you purchase new books versus used books. If you purchase a used version, the code has most likely been used and is therefore invalid.

If you use a code from the StrengthsQuest : Discover and Develop Your Strengths in Academics, Career, and Beyond, book you will have access to the StrengthsQuest.com website

If you use a book other than StrengthsQuest : Discover and Develop Your Strengths in Academics, Career, and Beyond, you will be directed to a different Gallup strengths related website and will not have access to the StrengthsQuest.com website

Purchasing Groups of Codes

Are you interested in integrating Strengths into your department, class, student organization or student group? Multiple codes can be ordered through the Gallup Store. The cost of codes is $9.99 per code. This is the same price that the general public pays for codes. Institutional discounts are no longer offered. Please see below for links to instructions. You will be required to sign in using your x.500 Internet ID and password before being able to access the below documents.
